The COVID-19 pandemic changed millions of lives in ways that extended

far beyond illness.

For one family in Tamil Nadu, it meant three young brothers suddenly

We couldn’t change what had happened to their family. But we could make

sure they didn’t have to face the immediate financial burden entirely alone.

A Story That Stayed With Us

During the COVID-19 crisis, we came across a

of three young brothers.

The children had lost both of their parents during the pandemic and

were now being cared for by their grandmother.

Beyond the unimaginable grief of losing their parents, the family faced

an immediate practical challenge.

Their grandmother had unexpectedly become responsible for providing

for three growing children without a steady source of financial support.

After learning about the family’s circumstances through the news coverage,

their situation was verified before assistance was provided.

Once we were confident that the need was genuine, we decided to help

the family directly.

₹10,000 Sent Directly to the Family

On May 29, 2021, a one-time financial contribution

was arranged for the family.

The transfer delivered ₹10,000 INR directly to the

recipient in India, helping provide some immediate financial relief

for the grandmother as she cared for the three boys.

It was not a large-scale program or a complicated intervention.

It was simply a family experiencing an extraordinary crisis and an

opportunity to respond when help was needed.

COVID-19 Left More Than a Health Crisis

The impact of COVID-19 cannot be understood only through infection

numbers or hospital statistics.

Behind those numbers were families.

Children lost parents. Husbands and wives lost spouses. Parents lost

children. And in some families, grandparents unexpectedly became

primary caregivers once again.

For these three brothers, the consequences of the pandemic would
