School Bus Helps 250 Children Access Education | LYNAYC

Sometimes, the biggest barrier standing between a child and an education

is not a lack of ambition, teachers, or classrooms.

Sometimes, it is simply the distance between home and school.

In 2022, Love Your Neighbours As Yourself Charity (LYNAYC)

learned about approximately 250 children whose ability

to attend school regularly was affected by a serious transportation challenge.

Their school,

R.C. St. Joseph’s Primary School,

wanted to help.

What they needed was a way to bring the children safely to the classroom.

When Distance Becomes a Barrier to Education

The students came from an underserved community and lived a considerable

distance from their school.

Without reliable transportation, getting to class meant travelling long

distances — often under difficult conditions.

For children and their families, that distance created a serious obstacle

to regular school attendance.

A classroom can provide opportunity only when a child has a way

to reach it.

A School Looking for a Solution

R.C. St. Joseph’s Primary School understood the challenge facing its students.

The school wanted to bridge the distance between the children’s homes

and their classrooms, but purchasing transportation required financial

resources that were difficult to secure.

This was not simply a transportation problem.

It was an education-access problem.

Without a practical solution, children risked missing valuable classroom

time because of circumstances completely outside their control.

LYNAYC Helps Put a School Bus on the Road

After learning about the need,

Love Your Neighbours As Yourself Charity

decided to help.

With the support of our donors,

₹1,00,000 (one lakh rupees) was contributed toward

helping the school purchase a bus.

The contribution helped turn a transportation need into a practical,

long-term solution.

Because this was more than simply purchasing a vehicle.

It was about helping children reach their education.

The school bus created a way for students from remote communities

to travel to school.

Instead of distance standing between children and their classrooms,

transportation could now help bridge that gap.

Supporting the school bus project meant helping create infrastructure

that could serve many children rather than addressing the transportation

needs of only one student.

That is the power of community-focused charitable support.

One solution can continue creating opportunities day after day,

student after student.

Every school day begins with a journey.

For some children, that journey is easy.

For others, simply reaching the classroom can be one of the greatest

obstacles they face.

journey a little easier for approximately 250 children.
