Supporting Ruth & Her Twin Daughters’ Education | LYNAYC

A Family Facing Multiple Challenges

Ruth was already facing the physical and financial demands of

breast cancer treatment when another challenge struck the family.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, her husband lost his job.

With the family’s financial stability severely affected, Ruth continued

working while undergoing treatment and helping provide for her family.

Much of what she earned had to go toward immediate necessities:

her children’s education.

Meet Varshita and Vanishita

Ruth’s twin daughters,

Varshita Ananya and Vanishita Ananya,

were studying in Grade 7 at St. Joseph’s Girls Higher

Secondary School.

Their education represented hope for the future — but continuing it

came with a financial responsibility the family was struggling to meet.

Their annual school fees were approximately

₹22,000.

Under ordinary circumstances, school fees can already be challenging

for families with limited incomes.

For a family simultaneously dealing with cancer treatment and the

loss of employment, that expense became extremely difficult to manage.

When Ruth Reached Out for Help

Faced with these circumstances, Ruth reached out to

for assistance.

Her concern was not simply about paying another bill.

It was about making sure that circumstances beyond her daughters’

control did not interrupt their education.

opportunity to learn.

A parent’s job loss should not have to determine whether a child

can remain in school.

Keeping Two Girls in School

LYNAYC stepped in to help cover the twins’ school fees,

allowing Varshita and Vanishita to continue their education.

For the girls, it meant being able to continue learning alongside

their classmates.

For Ruth, it meant having one less financial burden to carry while

undergoing treatment and caring for her family.

When a family faces a crisis, a child’s education should not

become another casualty.
