For Roxy Beena and her family, years of hardship had already

required extraordinary perseverance before another major life milestone

brought a new financial challenge.

With the support of

Love Your Neighbours As Yourself Charity (LYNAYC),

and through a trusted local parish connection, assistance was provided to

help Roxy begin a new chapter in her life.

A Family Shaped by Years of Sacrifice

Roxy’s family experienced a life-changing loss in 2007

when her father, the family’s primary breadwinner, passed away.

Her mother was left to raise two young children on her own.

With limited resources, she took on work to support her children and

continued doing everything she could to protect their education and future.

The family’s parish also played an important role during those difficult years,

helping the children continue their education.

Through persistence and sacrifice, Roxy was able to complete her graduation

and continue her studies through a B.Ed. program.

A New Milestone, and a New Financial Burden

After years spent focusing on survival, education, and stability,

Roxy’s family eventually faced another important milestone:

her marriage.

For her mother, this brought both happiness and concern.

After years of supporting the family alone, she did not have the financial

means to manage the additional expenses associated with her daughter’s wedding.

Sometimes, helping a family means supporting them not only in hardship,

but also in the moments that mark a hopeful new beginning.

St. Joseph’s Forane Church Reached Out

Recognizing the family’s situation,

St. Joseph’s Forane Church, Soosaipuram,

in Kanyakumari District, reached out on Roxy’s behalf.

The parish appeal described the mother’s years of sacrifice, Roxy’s

educational progress, and the family’s need for support as they prepared

for the marriage.

The request came through trusted local leadership familiar with the family

and their circumstances.

That gave us confidence that the assistance was being directed toward

a genuine need.

Turning Compassion Into Practical Support

In July 2021, financial support was arranged toward

Roxy Beena’s marriage.

A transfer of CAD $701 was made,

delivering approximately ₹41,057.72 INR

to support the family’s needs.

For a mother who had carried years of responsibility largely on her own,

this contribution helped ease one more burden.

It was a practical act of assistance, but it also represented something more:

recognition of a family’s years of courage, perseverance, and sacrifice.

Supporting More Than a Wedding

This initiative was not simply about helping cover wedding-related expenses.

It was about standing beside a family that had spent years rebuilding

after loss.

Roxy’s mother had worked to keep her children moving forward.

Roxy had pursued her education.

Her brother had continued his studies.

The family had already done the hard work of persevering.

Our role was simply to help make one important moment in their journey

a little easier.
