Kewin is pursuing a

B.Tech in Information Technology at Sri Ramanujar Engineering College

in Chennai.

Reaching this stage of his education, however, has required determination,

family sacrifice, and support from people who believed that financial

hardship should not stand between a student and his future.

A Family Working Hard to Make Ends Meet

Kewin comes from a family of four. He lives with his father, mother,

and younger sister.

His father works as an auto-rickshaw driver and provides

the family’s primary source of income.

With approximately ₹18,000–₹20,000 in monthly family income,

the family must manage housing, food, utilities, transportation, existing

debt, and educational expenses.

They also carry an outstanding vehicle loan of approximately

₹300,000.

For a family already carefully balancing its everyday expenses, the cost

of higher education creates a significant additional financial burden.

Determined to Continue His Education

Despite these challenges, Kewin has remained committed to his studies.

His college’s documented fee structure lists an annual cost of approximately

₹40,000, covering tuition, books, and placement and training

expenses. Additional educational expenses can arise during the academic year.

For Kewin, receiving educational assistance means being able to concentrate

more fully on his studies rather than constantly worrying about whether

financial circumstances will interrupt his education.

 

Education is expensive. The fees, books, and living expenses are too

much to manage on our own.

entered engineering college.

In an earlier handwritten letter, Kewin expressed his gratitude for the

assistance he received while completing his school education and preparing

to enter Class 12.

He thanked those supporting his studies and shared that his entire family

was grateful for the help they had received.

Today, seeing Kewin continue from school into higher education shows why
